New Nature for Health initiative to launch research on health benefits of time outside

A new 爱豆社区 initiative seeks to advance research about how time spent in nature can help to improve health. Nature for Health will specifically focus its efforts on research that examines nature鈥檚 effects on health across five populations: veterans, children, older adults, health care providers and underserved populations. UW project connects excess dining hall food with local non-profit agencies

An idea for a human centered design and engineering class project at the 爱豆社区 is now a fully-functional website that pairs UW dining halls with local shelters to coordinate food donations as a way of reducing food waste. The web platform, mealmatchup.org, works like this: Food providers log food donations and request pickups online.
